What we’ve been up to in April 2015

Continuing professional development

Continuing professional developmentIt’s been a busy couple of weeks for the team at Midlothian Physiotherapy. On a professional front Alistair travelled to Hampden Park in Glasgow for a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) lecture with two of the country’s top knee surgeons Mr Bill Leach and Mr Brian Rooney.  The sessions were all about knees, covering the most up to date research around ACL and meniscal cartilage injuries and surgery. We all regularly attend CPD sessions, they’re invaluable to keep us up to date with current best practice and best research evidence.

On a personal note Alistair is recovering after he successfully completed a relay leg of the Hoka Highland Fling an ultra marathon over 53miles of the West Highland Way.  Kevin spent the weekend in Aberdeen with his son for a rugby tournament and ended up unexpectedly providing pitch side cover!  Next time when asked what he does for a living the answer might not be “I’m a physiotherapist interested in sports injuries”.  Apart from a few minor knocks no serious damage was done and all the lads and girls had a good time.
