Alistair is one of the Partners of Midlothian Physiotherapy LLP, he established the clinic with Kevin Dewar and Paul Bryce in 2008. Alistair qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2000 with a first class BSc(Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. He is registered with the HCPC and is a member of the CSP.
A musculoskeletal clinical specialist he has a wealth of experience in both adult and paediatric age groups. He has experience with paediatrics at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, where he worked for 18 months when he first graduated.
Since then he has worked in a number of private sector organisations specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in a variety of different settings. This has included working in occupational health and GP practices treating a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, in addition to working in youth and adult professional sport.
Most recently prior to establishing Midlothian Physiotherapy LLP he worked at BUPA, now SPIRE Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh.
Alistair has broad experience working with elite athletes in both youth and adult age groups. He has worked in the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne sports injuries clinic and the Sunderland AFC Youth Academy. He worked for Heart of Midlothian FC treating academy players as well as first team and reserve players.
When establishing Midlothian Physiotherapy LLP Alistair worked for three seasons with the first team at Raith Rovers FC. These roles have all involved not only treating and rehabilitating sports injuries but also pre-participation training and the implementation of injury prevention strategies.
Alistair lives in Midlothian and is a keen runner and cyclist. He’s currently training for his fifth marathon.
